About
Lilac Stranger is a progressive post-hardcore band from Puerto Rico that fuses anime-inspired female vocals, fierce screams, and intricate guitar work into a vibrant and dynamic sound.
Shortly after their first performances, they quickly built a dedicated following, leading to the release of their debut album Back Seat Driver in 2014, which featured a collaboration with emo-meets-rap singer-songwriter Andrés.
Six years later, they released their second album, A Place Called Levittown, a heartfelt tribute to their hometown. The album resonated deeply with fans, expanding their reach and earning praise from media outlets such as Mathcore Index and The Math Rock Times.
In 2024, the band returned with their latest album, Dreaming In Lilac, further pushing their sonic boundaries. The record was met with critical acclaim, earning a spot on Fecking Bahamas' Top 50 Math Rock Releases of 2024, solidifying the band's place in the genre’s ever-evolving landscape.
Following the album's release, the band embarked on their first tour of Japan, sharing stages with acclaimed acts such as as a sketch pad, Rest Ashore, and the legendary tricot. The tour cemented their status as a rising force in the math rock world.
With over a decade of evolution on their shoulders, Lilac Stranger continues to redefine their sound while staying true to their roots. Always moving forward, they remain unpredictable, unrelenting, and unafraid to carve new paths—wherever the music takes them next.
